Annual Goldenman's Visit

Just like my family does every year the weekend following Thanksgiving we go to Goldenman's to get our Christmas tree. I just love how the tree makes the whole house smell wonderful, (too bad I can't smell anything right now because I'm sick...). I hope to be able to continue this tradition with Jordan and I when we get married and have our own little family.

This years visit was shorter than usually, because we got out of the car and we saw the tree we knew was perfect. So we took a few pictures and then started cutting down the tree. As I am typing this I am looking at the pretty tree in our living room, we still need to decorate it but its already making me excited for Christmas. My favorite time of the year. :)

My family kept saying my cute new headband made me look like a gypsy...

Thanksgiving

Well my first Thanksgiving cooking the whole meal was a success. All thanks to my wonderful fiancĂ© and my Pioneer Woman Cooks: A Year of Holidays Cookbook. I would recommend the cookbook to anyone. The recipes all tasted amazing and I can't wait to try the rest of holiday recipes. Jordan and I started cooking on Wednesday and then all the way up to when we ate on Thursday (Thanksgiving Day. I thought it was so much fun. Next time I know what I can make ahead of time so I can prepare better next time, so we aren't rushing the day of. Actually the Pioneer Woman's cookbook had a list of stuff you could have made ahead of time but I got a late start haha. My family was very pleased with how the meal turned out. It was a nice day of giving thanks and being with family. My 98 year old Great-Grandma was even very impressed with my cooking and that means a lot to me.

I didn't get too many pictures of my cooking because I was busy cooking it haha, but Jordan and I had a mini photo shoot on the back porch to celebrate our first Thanksgiving being engaged. :) That reminds me we are 99.9% sure we found the venue for our reception woo! The big part of the planning is almost secured. I also just ordered all my wonderful bridesmaids their present :) This holiday season is just making me feel so thankful of the family and all the friends Jordan and I have to love and support us as we are enter this new stage in our lives.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Annual Craft Extravaganza

Hi all, I had such a fun filled busy weekend. Jordan and I celebrated an early Thanksgiving with his family. All the family was in town, and we had so much fun. The little ones always steal the show with their cuteness and sweetness. :) Celebrating Thanksgiving this year seems so much more special to me because now that I am engaged I now have so much more family to spend it with, and to be thankful for. (Not that I didn't consider them family before I got engaged, just now it is official) :). Also I get to start traditions with Jordan around the holidays.

Jordan's sisters had an idea last year that we have a craft day, and this year we continued it. So now it is officially known as the Annual Craft Extravaganza. This year we all decided to think of a craft we could bring for everyone, and surprise each other with it. I thought it was such a fun day. It was fun-filled and I put me in the Christmas spirit.

Chalk board pieces of wood, painted pinecones, present tags, and soy candles. I have the craft bug now. Hope everyone had a  great weekend!

Engagement Party!

Jordan's mom and two sisters' decided to throw Jordan and I an engagement party this past Sunday. It was so nice to be able to get my family together with his family, and have our grandparents meet both sides of the family! The little kiddos stole everyone's hearts :) Jordan and I also got to ask his siblings to be apart of our bridal parties. We are also getting the little ones to be apart of it too. We are so excited to share our big day with them and the rest of our family and close friends! I am so thankful for my family and the new family members that I am going to be gaining. I couldn't have asked for better people to be in my life.

The wedding planning has been going good so far, busy but good. I think we have a few places picked out that we need to go visit soon. I can't wait to go see them!

Happy Day!

Well it is official, Jordan and I are engaged :) It happened a little over a week ago. I would have blogged about it sooner, but it has been busy trying to start planning the wedding and keeping up with with school.

Well the story of how it happened... It was Saturday morning of November 2nd, 2013. He made sure it was my idea we went on a walk so I didn't suspect anything. So I decided we should go to Otsego Park because it was going to be so nice out after a rainy week. Ironically when Jordan picked me up "Best Day of My Life" by American Authors was playing on the radio. Then we get to the park and we start walking along the path. We stop to take a few pictures and then we start talking and then he gets down on one knee... :) I was so excited it was everything I had hoped for! We didn't even do the rest of the walk we were so excited to go tell our families haha. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better person to spend the rest of my life with. We are both so excited to start our married lives together within a year.

Right after it happened!! :)
