Alaskan Cruise (Port #3 Skagway & Port #4 Victoria, British Columbia)

Well after Juneau we went to Skagway, Alaska. Which was really pretty. Jordan and I decided to do our own excursion, so we chose the White Pass & Yukon Route historical train. It took us up in the mountains of Skagway and then a little bit into Fraser, British Columbia. It was so cool to go up into the mountains on the historical train to see where the people of the Klondike Gold Rush went. We also saw a mom moose and baby moose!

After the Port #3 Skagway we had a day at sea, and then we got to Port #4 Victoria, British Columbia. Victoria was so different than Alaska and it was different than most of Canada I have seen before. We weren't in Victoria for too long so we just walked around the city a little. Then after Victoria we woke up the next morning back in Seattle to go home. Which was a funny adventure trying to get home. We didn't rent a car or anything so we were just planning on spending the day at the airport because we had a late flight. Jordan though flew separate because he came out later so his flight was about two hours before ours. We also didn't realize that since my grandma had booked the flights a year ago the flight got delayed an hour... So we were going to be at the airport even longer haha. So my Dad and brother decided to change flights and take an earlier one so we could all figure out the ride situation when we got back to Minnesota. I have to admit I was a little jealous they didn't have to sit at the airport all day haha. But it all worked out and we all got home safe and sound. I didn't know for sure if we were going to with all the turbulence we experienced on the way back to Minnesota though. Apparently my Dad, brother, and even Jordan's flight all experienced some too that day. Here are some pictures from the last two ports!

The train!

Victoria, British Columbia

This was a bathroom we saw in Victoria haha.

Their capital building.

Back in Seattle!

I also forgot to mention, that as well as having to sit at the airport most of the day. We also had to wait until 6 hours before our flight to check our bags in. So we sat in the check in area of the airport for awhile. At least there was a coffee place :).

This vacation was so much fun! I would recommend it to anyone who like to see nature, hike, and see Alaska. I would also recommend it to anyone who wants to try a cruise and usually gets motion sickness because the boat stays in channels and close to shore a lot of the time so it isn't is bad as being in the open sea like a Caribbean cruise.

Top three things from the cruise:
1. The Bearing Sea Crab fishing excursion.
2. The shows on the cruise ship (especially the illusionist Jason Bishop)
3. The nature/scenery and the White Pass & Yukon train ride.

If you missed my other posts from the vacation you can click here for Seattle, here for Ketchikan/Port #1, and here for Port #2 Tracy Arm Fjords/Juneau. :)
